The Joe Tyler Solo Exhibition, will highlight the artist's many notable contributions to cities and towns throughout the valley. The positive impacts of his beautiful ironwork within our communities is immeasurable. This exhibition brings West Valley cities, communities, and organizations together to collectively commemorate Joe Tyler and his work.
Joe Tyler has many monumental site specific sculptures as well as public parks, gateways, entry features, war memorial, fountains, roadway projects, pedestrian/bike path projects, transit shelters, Kiosks, sculpted signage, lighting treatments, seating, interactive functional art, wall art, neighborhood monuments, bridges, kinetic work, sculpted gates, and ornamental fencing. He fabricates his own designs and work mostly with welded steel, but also sometimes incorporate stone, copper, lighting, glass, ceramic tile, enamel paint, and masonry materials.
"My goal as an artist is to give communities, whether public or private, a piece of artwork they feel connected to because it reflects their own visions, dreams and desires."
Additionally, the Joe Tyler Solo Exhibit will feature works from his former apprentice, 17 year old artist Fayelee Brazis-Pfeiff. In 2021 Faye studied with Tyler, learning skills in welding and metal work. techniques that Tyler had perfected over years. Now Faye attends high school in the mornings and welding trade school in the afternoons and is excited to continue to challenge herself artistically in the journey ahead.
